What NFPA 99 actually is
NFPA 99 is the National Fire Protection Association's Health Care Facilities Code. Among many other things, it addresses hyperbaric environments — and the concern there is straightforward physics rather than anything controversial: oxygen does not burn, but it makes everything else burn faster and hotter. Concentrate enough of it in a small enclosed space and you have changed the fire risk of that space, full stop.
So the code sets a ceiling on how oxygen-rich the interior atmosphere of a chamber is allowed to become while someone is inside it. That is the entire concern. We will not tell you a purchase closes an inspection for you — but this is the component inspectors and insurers ask us about most.
Will it fit my chamber if I did not buy it from Prestige?
Usually, yes.
