NFPA 99, the Health Care Facilities Code, treats 23.5 percent oxygen by volume as the point at which a chamber atmosphere counts as oxygen-enriched, and from there requires continuous oxygen monitoring with an alarm above that figure in Class A chambers, plus antistatic and patient-grounding precautions. It is a threshold that triggers requirements, not a ceiling the code forbids you to cross. The OxySafe keeps the chamber atmosphere continuously refreshed during every session — sweeping out CO2 and other exhaled gases and working to keep the chamber’s interior oxygen below 23.5 percent, the point at which the code treats the atmosphere as oxygen-enriched. The result is a cleaner chamber atmosphere and a documented air-supply design you can hand to an insurer or an inspector. Whether it satisfies them is their determination to make, not ours.
What This Kit Does
Every hyperbaric session builds up exhaled gases and elevated oxygen inside the chamber. Left unmanaged, that atmosphere can drift past the fire-safety limit defined in NFPA 99.
